Liverpool midfielder Philippe Coutinho has insisted that he still hopes to be part of the Brazil squad for this summer's World Cup.
The 21-year-old's only previous senior appearance for his country came back in 2010 during a friendly against Iran.
However, the playmaker believes that his form in the Premier League this season could see him enter the thoughts of national team manager Luiz Felipe Scolari.
"The Brazilian national team will always be one of my objectives, and I haven't given up of the World Cup yet," he told Placar.
"I know our manager keeps an eye on everything that is going on, and I am doing my best to deserve a chance.
"Let's see what happens until the squad are called up. I still have the dream of playing the World Cup in Brazil."
Coutinho has scored five goals in 35 appearances for Liverpool so far this season.
