Lyon boss Remi Garde has said that there is room for improvement following his team's 4-1 win over Troyes.
Goals from Bafetimbi Gomis, Michel Bastos, Julien Faussurier and Cris cancelled out Jean-Christophe Bahebeck's opener at the Stade de Gerland, but Garde was left frustrated by "bad habits" from last season.
The Frenchman paid tribute to the professionalism within his ranks, particularly that shown by Bastos, who is believed to be edging towards an exit.
"We deserved to win the game but some of our bad habits from last season came back, notably falling behind at home before coming back to win," said Garde. "But overall, even if the performance was not yet where we want it to be, I think the victory was merited.
"There are still certain things that we need to work on but it is just the start of the season and the legs are maybe still a bit heavy and the playing conditions, in this heat, are extremely difficult.
"This win has a special taste because things are not easy at the moment. Despite that, I think we have a cohesive group of players who are sticking together. Nobody is putting their own individual interest ahead of the interests of the group as a whole. Look at Michel Bastos, he came on and scored. He wasn't in the squad last weekend because I felt he needed to work harder. He did that and was compensated with a goal."
Lyon have six points from their first two games and will travel to Evian next Friday.
