Lyon 1-1 Brest

Gregeory Lorenzi scores a late equaliser for Brest to earn a 1-1 draw against Lyon at the Stade de Gerland.

A late goal from Gregory Lorenzi ensured that Lyon were held to a shock 1-1 draw by Brest.

Lyon looked dangerous from the first whistle and Bafetimbi Gomis was close to opening the scoring but his shot from a tight angle went just wide of the goal.

Alexandre Lacazette tested Brest goalkeeper Steeve Elana as the midfielder was denied from just outside of the box.

Lyon's dominance continued throughout the first half with Brest failing to keep the ball for too long as the hosts controlled the midfield area.

Yoann Gourcuff finally broke the deadlock in the 37th minute as the playmaker ghosted between the Brest defenders to head in Mouhamadou Dabo's cross.

The hosts continued to control the match as the seond period began and Lisandro should have extended the lead but he failed to hit the target from inside the box following good work from Gourcuff.

Lyon were wasteful on a number of occasions and Gomis missed the best opportunity of the second half for the home side as he put his shot wide following a through ball from Lacazette.

The inability to finish chances proved costly for Lyon as Brest scored an unlikely leveller in the 75th minute.

Adama Ba's corner was not cleared by the home side and the ball fell to Lorenzi and the defender slotted the ball past Hugo Lloris.

Despite late pressure Brest held on for a point to frustrate a wasteful Lyon side.
