Lyon have insisted that captain Maxime Gonalons is not for sale.
The French club released a statement on their website to deny that they had set a price for the defensive midfielder.
Gonalons has been attracting interest from Arsenal and Monaco recently, but Lyon have no intention to sell.
"Olympique Lyonnais were very surprised to read in L'Equipe this morning, that we would set a transfer figure for Maxime Gonalons and that it would be more than €12m," the statement on their official website read.
"The club have no intention of parting with our captain and this is a matter of clear strategy, namely the further development of our club around our best young players from the academy."
Lyon finished third in Ligue 1 last season.
