Macedonia and Wales played out their game in-hand in Group A of the European qualifying for next year's World Cup in Brazil this evening.

It was a first-ever meeting between the two nations and won by Macedonia, who move off the bottom of the table and above Wales into fourth place.

Good evening all! Kickoff is moments away in Skopje, with Wales superstar and the world's most expensive player Gareth Bale only fit enough for the bench.

The Welsh FA have reportedly made a complaint to FIFA about the state of the pitch, which is said to be cutting up badly.

KICKOFF! We're underway! Macedona, in their all-red kit, kick off. Wales are in their white and green away kit.

CHANCE! An opening for the Welsh inside the opening minute as Bellamy is gifted the ball in the final third. He just has one defender to beat but decides to pass for the supporting Ramsey and the ball is held up in the longer grass and doesn't reach the Arsenal man.

REFEREE WATCH: The officials tonight are from Switzerland and the man in charge is Sascha Kever.

The hosts come the closest they have as Tasevski puts in a very dangerous low cross along the six-yard box, with Kostovski just unable to get a toe to it.

The assistant deems that Ramsey is onside down the right but the Arsenal man, who has been in fine form this term, fluffs his lines by overhitting a cross to the unmarked Bellamy.

Macedonia are pressing quite high up the pitch at the moment and because of the poor state of the pitch, Wales are finding it hard to play their way out of defence. You'd expect the pace of Bellamy to cause problems in behind though.

Nice interplay from the home side sees Ristovski roll off his man but just overrun the ball. After a bright start from the Welsh, Macedonia now look more threatening.

CHANCE! Out of nowhere, Wales are in on goal as Ledley feeds Jonny Williams. The Palace man is just beaten to the ball by goalkeeper Pacovski though. Good sweeper-keeping from the Macedonia man, although Williams could have been a tad more determined to get there first.

Macedonia hilariously throw up their hands in appeal for a backpass as Ledley's clearance is completely sliced back to Myhill.

The visitors race down the other end and Ramsey releases Bellamy down the left flank. The Cardiff man looks to return it to the number 10 but the cross is half-blocked and Macedonia are able to clear.

YELLOW! The first man in the book is Vaughan for a late slide tackle on Macedonia's star player, Goran Pandev. The Napoli man played a neat one-two with Ibraimi before being brought down. Free kick 30 yards out...

GOAL! Macedonia 1-0 Wales (Trickovski)

It's a lucky goal, but Macedonia will of course take it. The free kick hits the wall and breaks kindly for Trickovski, who takes one touch before firing low into the bottom corner from the centre of the area.

Harsh on Wales but the wall was a little flimsy and the ball should not have got through. If it's still like this at half time then surely Coleman will think of bringing on Mr Bale?

SAVED! A chance for Macedonia to double their lead as Pandev has plenty of room on his favoured left foot but blasts straight at Myhill, whose save is unconvincing but good enough.

OFF THE POST! So, so unlucky for Wales as Bellamy's 25-yard free kick curls beautifully over the wall, rooting Pacovski who can only watch as the ball slaps into the upright and away.

Williams comes out of position to head away a loose ball but can only find a red shirt who prods it straight back past him to Kostovski. The striker looks like he'll be in on goal but Ricketts comes across to make a fine covering, last-ditch tackle.

PENALTY TO WALES!

Goalscorer Trickovski is fooled by Ramsey's skills and slides in carelessly on the Arsenal man, who will now take the spot kick...

GOAL! Macedonia 1-1 Wales (Ramsey, pen.)

The man who earned the penalty puts it away by side-footing it straight up the middle.

The Macedonian players are fuming at the moment as referee Kever awards Wales a free kick. They protested vigorously at the award of the penalty but Ramsey's trickery was simply too good.

Two players have been booked off the ball earlier in the half that I've only just noticed. For Wales, Bellamy was booked for arguing about the award of the free kick which led to the hosts goal, while Ristovski was cautioned for a similar offence when Wales were given a penalty.

HALF-TIME: A nasty way to end the half as it ends in anger with a big scuffle and handbags between the two sides.

The reason for that end-of-half coming together was that Ramsey seemed to tumble a little easily after being blocked off. Pandev came over to try and help the Arsenal man up but he didn't want his help and reacted to the gesture. Completely stupid and referee Kever perhaps did the right thing in calling half-time instead of waiting and allowing Wales to take the free kick.

I'd say that 1-1 is probably a fair score at half time, with Wales starting well but fading in the middle part of the half. They did end better though and deserved to equalise.

STATS! Wales have edged the possession (52%) and shots (four to three) but Macedonia have got all of their shots on target, while Wales have only got one.

There's plenty of international footy tonight and you can follow live scores with the red box on your right and find all of our live commentaries by clicking here.

Whoa whoa whoa! Bale is out warming up at half-time and he's confronted by a couple of local fans. A teammate comes over to help him before the two men are escorted away by the stewards.

Bale isn't going to be coming on just yet, though. The two teams are out for the second half and hopefully they've calmed down a little after that end-of-half ruckus that also saw Ashley Williams booked. That means he will now miss Tuesday's match against Serbia.

YELLOW! Kostovski is the sixth name to go in the book for a high tackle on Davies.

JUST WIDE! Ramsey has been at the heart of all good things from the men in green and white and he's just set up Collison for a shot, with the West Ham man placing it inches wide of the far post with his left foot.

Excellent set piece again from Bellamy. This time it's a corner that's curled into the perfect area to attack. I can't see much wrong there but flustered referee Kever blows up for a foul, somewhere.

YELLOW! It's certainly a heated affair out there as Ibraimi becomes the next man into the book for a nasty one on Jonny Williams. Moments ago Macedonia keeper Pacovski studded Collison in the chest when jumping for a high ball and wasn't penalised. Completely out of order.

SUBS: Both sides make changes, with Aleksandar Trajkovski on for Ibraimi for the hosts and Andrew Crofts taking the place of Jonny Williams. Still no sign of the world's most expensive player.

CHANCE! Glorious opening for the home side as a low cross goes all the way across to Pandev on the left of the area. Macedonia's all-time leading goalscorer takes a horrible first touch though and then can't get off a decent shot. Really poor, that.

CHANCE! You have to feel that this game is there for the taking for Wales, with Macedonia getting increasingly frustrated. They have a chance to go ahead as Davies is presented with plenty of space down the left and looks for Ledley in the middle. The Celtic man can't get his foot there first though and Macedonia clear.

Excellent play from the hosts as Gligorov is picked out at the back post and he side-foots a first-time volley-cross over to Kostovski, who is well defended by Ricketts.

GOOD SAVE! This game is really opening up now as we head into the final 20. Wales completely switch off as Tasevski keeps it in on the far touchline before feeding Trickovski, whose one-on-one effort is saved by Myhill.

Still no sign of Bale and you have to feel that if Coleman wants to win this game, he needs to bring on his superstar.

MACEDONIA SUB: Aleksandar Lasevski comes on for Georgievski.

YELLOW! Crofts is booked for a physical aerial challenge and that gives Macedonia a free kick on the edge of the box...

Pandev's dinked free kick was always too high and Myhill, despite a dive for the cameras, knew it was going over.

WALES SUB: It's not Bale as Matthews comes on for Collison.

GOAL! Macedonia 2-1 Wales (Trajkovski)

Dear oh dear, what a rubbish goal to concede. Vaughan loses possession in the middle but Wales recover before Vaughan has another chance to get the ball but loses out again. The ball falls to Trajkovski and it's dreadful defending from the visitors as they part in front of him to allow a free shot at goal from 20 yards which the substitute takes and drills into the corner.

It's not like this Wales defence is made up of small names. Gunter, Ricketts, Williams and Davies have all played/play in the Premier League and there's simply no excuse for that.

SUBS: Both sides make their final changes as Kostovski is replaced by Mojsov and Sam Vokes replaces Vaughan. That means we will not see Bale tonight, the man who specialises in worldy 90th-minute match-winners. Shame.

CHANCE! What a shocker this is from Ledley! Bellamy's deep free kick goes all the way through to the number four at the back post who somehow lets the ball go under his foot and out of play. All he had to do was make contact and prod goalwards!

FOUR minutes added on. Can Wales find something?

The visitors are piling forward but their attack is very blunt. Davies's dinked cross just now may have been headed in by Ramsey if Vokes had not jumped in front of him and headed out harmlessly.

FULL-TIME: Macedonia 2-1 Wales

It's a limp loss for Wales as they go down in their first-ever meeting against the Macedonians.

Three points for Macedonia mean that they go above Wales into fourth place, with Chris Coleman's men failing to take advantage of the game in-hand and move up to third.
