Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez has been touted to replace Manuel Pellegrini should the 59-year-old leave Malaga at the end of the season.
Pellegrini has been linked with potential moves to the Premier League, with Chelsea or Manchester City as reported suitors.
Should the Chilean leave the club, Malaga officials have placed Martinez as their number one target to replace him after he guided his struggling Wigan to the FA Cup final this season, reports The Mirror.
Martinez has remained loyal to the Latics in the past and has rebuffed interest from Aston Villa and Liverpool over the last few years.
