A source close to Malmo suggests that Tokelo Rantie will remain with the Swedish outfit despite interest from Middlesbrough and Bournemouth.

Championship duo Middlesbrough and Bournemouth have reportedly had bids rejected for Malmo midfielder Tokelo Rantie.

The South-African, who joined the Swedish outfit from Orlando Pirates in April, is regarded as one of the brightest midfielders in European football.

It is understood that Middlesbrough and Bournemouth have both registered their interest in the 22-year-old, but a source close to Malmo has quelled suggestions of a move.

"Malmo want Champions League football, and that makes any deal very hard," the source told Sky Sports News.

"Malmo want to keep Rantie and it appears they will at this point."

Rantie has scored seven league goals for Malmo this season.
