Manchester City team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Lyon

Sports Mole rounds up Manchester City's latest injury and suspension news ahead of their Champions League quarter-final with Lyon.

Manchester City will be looking to secure a place in the semi-finals of the Champions League when they face Lyon in the last eight of the competition on August 15.

Pep Guardiola's side booked their spot in the quarter-finals courtesy of a 2-1 win over Real Madrid on Friday night, which handed them a 4-2 aggregate success over the Spanish giants.

Lyon, meanwhile, surprisingly overcame Juventus on away goals to advance to the final eight, despite suffering a 2-1 loss to the Italian champions in the second leg of their last-16 tie.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up City's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the clash.

Sergio Aguero

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: August 15 (vs. Lyon)

Aguero has been on the sidelines since undergoing knee surgery towards the end of June. The 32-year-old is yet to resume training, meaning that he will again be a major doubt for next weekend's contest. That said, the Argentine has not yet been officially ruled out of the European quarter-final.

MANCHESTER CITY'S SUSPENSION LIST

City have no suspension concerns heading into the European clash and will be able to call upon left-back Benjamin Mendy once again after the Frenchman served a one-game ban against Madrid.
