Yaya Toure: Manchester City "looking for the Champions League"

Yaya Toure reveals that the Manchester City squad are determined to win the Champions League this season to complete their collection of major trophies.

Yaya Toure has admitted that Manchester City are determined to win the Champions League this season and complete their collection of major silverware.

The Ivorian midfielder has helped City win two Premier League titles, an FA Cup and a League Cup since Sheikh Mansour's Eastlands takeover in 2008.

However, they have failed to reach the quarter-finals of Europe's biggest club competition in three attempts and Toure has revealed that there is a hunger in the dressing room to correct that this season.

The 31-year-old is hopeful that Manuel Pellegrini, who has signed Fernando, Bacary Sagna, Willy Caballero and Bruno Zuculini this summer, will make more additions to help City lift "every trophy possible".

Toure told the club's official website. "We are looking for the Champions League - that is an important title this year and the Premier League is going to be a battle as well between Chelsea, United, Arsenal, Tottenham and Liverpool too.

"I think it's going to be very open. We know we are the team to beat but we have the confidence and we have the fantastic players coming and I hope this year's going to be the same."

He added: "I hope a couple of players sign in because we need to try to build a massive club because if we want to be the best we need to win every trophy possible."

Toure has insisted that he is committed to City for the long term amid speculation over his future.
