Bursting onto the scene as the Premier League's youngest ever goalscorer at Leeds United in 2002, James Milner enjoyed spells at Newcastle United and Aston Villa before joining Manchester City for around £26m in 2010.
At times a victim of his own versatility, Milner was nonetheless a valuable member of the squad which won the FA Cup in his debut season with the club - City's first major trophy for 35 years.
One year later the England international helped the club to their first league title in 44 years, and he added another Premier League crown and League Cup trophy to his honours list two years later.
Milner left to join Liverpool on a free transfer in 2015 having made more than 200 appearances for City across all competitions, including 13 goals in 147 Premier League outings.
