Manchester City team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Burnley

Sports Mole rounds up Manchester City's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Tuesday's Premier League trip to Burnley.

Manchester City will be looking to avoid another slip-up in the Premier League title race when they face Burnley at Turf Moor on Tuesday evening.

The champions dropped 11 points off the pace set by Liverpool courtesy of their 2-2 draw against Newcastle United on Saturday, making it just one win from their last five games across all competitions.

A huge derby against Manchester United awaits next weekend, but first Pep Guardiola's side must take on a Burnley team that will be looking to respond to their home defeat at the hands of Crystal Palace on Saturday.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest injury and suspension news for City ahead of the match.

Possible return date: January 18 (vs. Crystal Palace)

Guardiola suggested that a December comeback is an outside possibility for Leroy Sane, although the winger is more likely to be held back until January having not featured since the Community Shield in August.

Aymeric Laporte

Oleksandr Zinchenko underwent relatively minor knee surgery in October and is nearing a return, although Tuesday's match is expected to come too soon for him.

Type of injury: Thigh
Possible return date: December 15 (vs. Arsenal)

All-time record goalscorer Sergio Aguero has been ruled out for "a few games" by Guardiola due to a thigh injury, meaning that he will miss both the visit to Burnley and the Manchester derby at the weekend.

Ilkay Gundogan
