Manchester City team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Southampton

Sports Mole rounds up Manchester City's latest injury and suspension news ahead of their Premier League showdown with Southampton on Sunday.

Manchester City will endeavour to build on their 4-0 thrashing of Premier League champions Liverpool when they travel to the South Coast to take on Southampton on Sunday afternoon.

Pep Guardiola's side paid their respects to the champions Liverpool with a guard of honour before kick-off at the Etihad in midweek, but Jurgen Klopp's men were faced with a City onslaught minutes later as the former champions laid down a marker ahead of next season.

With City still striving for success in the FA Cup and Champions League, the remaining Premier League fixtures hold little value for Guardiola's men, but the City manager will no doubt be demanding maximum effort from his players no matter the what the permutations are.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up City's latest injury and suspension news ahead of their trip to Southampton.

Sergio Aguero

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

City's solitary injury concern is their all-time top scorer Sergio Aguero, who recently underwent surgery on his knee in Barcelona. The Argentine is unlikely to feature for the remainder of the Premier League campaign, but may be able to come back in time for the Champions League in August.

MAN CITY'S SUSPENSION LIST

City have no suspension concerns for this fixture, with Fernandinho available for selection again after serving a two-game ban.
