Manchester City team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Southampton

Sports Mole rounds up Manchester City's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Saturday's Premier League clash with Southampton.

Manchester City need to respond quickly this weekend when they take on Southampton following back-to-back draws in the Premier League.

The Citizens played out a bland stalemate with Manchester United last week before being held 1-1 by West Bromwich Albion on Tuesday.

Pep Guardiola's side are well adrift of top spot in the division and will know the importance of beating high-flying Southampton.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up City's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Saturday's match.

Eric Garcia

Status: Out
Type of injury: Muscle injury
Possible return date: January 3 (vs. Chelsea)

Eric Garcia left the field early in Man City's draw with Marseille last week with a muscular injury and has missed their last two games. Guardiola expects to be without the centre-back for another two weeks, meaning that he could return for the trip to Chelsea.

Oleksandr Zinchenko

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Unspecified
Possible return date: Unknown

Guardiola revealed ahead of the West Brom game that Oleksandr Zinchenko would play no part, but he did not elaborate on the injury or how long the defender will be out. Given the quick turnaround in matches, Zinchenko is likely to be absent again this weekend.

MANCHESTER CITY'S SUSPENSION LIST

City do not have any suspension issues ahead of the clash with Ralph Hasenhuttl's side.
