Manuel Pellegrini believes that his Manchester City team are worthy winners of the Capital One Cup following the 3-1 victory over Sunderland in the final at Wembley.
Pellegrini sealed his first piece of silverware in English football today as City came from a goal behind to claim the League Cup.
The Sky Blues scored 22 goals in the competition en route to the trophy, and the Chilean insists that the title is just reward for his side's performances throughout the tournament.
"I'm very happy," he told Sky Sports News. "The team deserve this cup because we played well during the whole cup and scored a lot of goals.
"It's important for all of us - for the players, the club, for me, for the staff - all of us."
Yaya Toure, Samir Nasri and Jesus Navas were on target for City against Sunderland.
