Wolverhampton Wanderers have won the Premier League Asia Trophy courtesy of a penalty-shootout win over Manchester City.
Pep Guardiola's side had the better of Saturday's final in Shanghai, with Raheem Sterling also missing a spot kick during the opening stages.
However, after Wolves had held on for a goalless draw during 90 minutes, Rui Patricio made three saves in the shootout to earn victory for his side.

This result seemed very unlikely during the early stages of the game, but Wolves deserve so much praise for coming through with a clean sheet and then edging out City in a shootout. Guardiola will be happy enough with City's performance, but he wouldn't have wanted to lose out in such circumstances.
WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS 3-2 MANCHESTER CITY - NMECHA MISSES! Nmecha must score, must he doesn't! Patricio dives to his right to save a poor effort. Wolves are the Premier League Asia Trophy champions!
WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS 3-2* MANCHESTER CITY - VINAGRE SCORES! Vinagre does the same, slotting the ball into the bottom left corner as Bravo dived to his left.
WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS *2-2 MANCHESTER CITY - GARCIA SCORES! City get back level as Garcia sends Patricio the wrong way.
WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS 2-1* MANCHESTER CITY - PERRY SCORES! This has got a touch of Beckham and Terry about it but despite slipping, Perry finds the roof of the net!
WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS *1-1 MANCHESTER CITY - DANILO SCORES! City levels things up with Danilo forcing the ball under Patricio.
WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS 1-0* MANCHESTER CITY - KILMAN MISSES! Up steps Kilman, who sends his effort wide of the target! It was a weird run-up too.
WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS *1-0 MANCHESTER CITY - SILVA MISSES! Now Patricio saves from Silva, low down to his left!
WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS 1-0* MANCHESTER CITY - BENNETT SCORES! We have a goal! Bennett opts for power, driving the ball low down the middle.
WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS *0-0 MANCHESTER CITY - GUNDOGAN MISSES! Gundogan does exactly the same, with Patricio saving to his right!
WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS 0-0* MANCHESTER CITY - COADY MISSES! It is a well-struck penalty, but Bravo guesses correctly by diving to his right.
It looks like Wolves are going to take the first spot kick. Coady is walking into the penalty area.
The full-time whistle goes and we are heading to penalties! City have had the better of this contest, but Wolves deserve huge credit for keeping a clean sheet against the Premier League champions.
FULL TIME: WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS 0-0 MANCHESTER CITY
Wolves have spent the last minute or so in possession, showing ambition to snatch an unlikely winner. It fails to come off, but it was refreshing to see.
There will be two minutes of added-on time. City remain on the offensive, with Wolves lined up in and around their own penalty area.
I've reached the conclusion that it would be a shame if we do not see a penalty shootout. These youngsters need to be put in pressure situations and while this is only a friendly tournament, there will be a desire to prevail in any circumstances.
Angelino has struggled for City since his introduction, with Sanderson frequently getting the better of him down the right. However, not for the first time, the Wolves wing-back makes the wrong choice with his final pass.
You get the impression that City sense their moment here. Bennett, Coady and Vinagre are the only senior outfield players for Wolves now.
Just the 10 minutes to go now. Nuno is taking a risk by introducing four more youngsters into the game, but he has to think about the Europa League qualifier next Thursday.
SUBSTITUTIONS! More changes for Wolves as Boly, Neves, Dendoncker and Moutinho all make way.
SHOT! From the resulting set piece, Silva sends a curling effort heading towards the near top corner, only for Patricio to get across to make a brilliant save.
YELLOW CARD! Coady is dispossessed by Bernardo, and it leads to the Wolves centre-back deliberately hauling down the playmaker. Even in a friendly, it is a definite booking.
SUBSTITUTION! City make another switch, with Knight being introduced for Poveda-Ocampo.
It's time to get some more fluids on board, which may have been why the intensity of the game had dropped over the last few minutes.
Half an opening for Wolves after Perry heads the ball into the path of Dendoncker. However, both the Belgian and City's Harwood-Bellis misjudged the flight of the ball, and City were able to clear.
Wolves are definitely seeing more of the ball now, but City are settled at the back. There is every chance that this will remain goalless, but you never know.
As we enter the final quarter, I will remind you that we will have a penalty shootout if this game ends on level terms. That could get interesting with the amount of prospects on the pitch.
Wolves quickly manage to get Sanderson into the game down the right-hand side, but the youngster miscontrols the ball inside the area.
SUBSTITUTIONS! Wolves are also making alterations with Vinagre, Ennis, Sanderson and Perry all entering the action. Jonny, Traore, Gibbs-White and Jota have gone off.
SUBSTITUTIONS! It's time for some more City changes. Laporte, Rodri, Sane and Zinchenko have all been withdrawn, with Angelino, Harwood-Bellis, Nmecha and Garcia being introduced.
SHOT! The resulting corner is cleared to the edge of the area where Neves is waiting, but the Portugal international's swerving effort is easily dealt with by Bravo.
Wolves are increasingly looking to press forward, perhaps having attempted to draw Man City out. Jota found himself with the ball in the final third with little choice but to shoot from distance, with the effort being diverted behind for a corner.
City are taking the chance to have a breather, and Wolves are happy to oblige with some possession in their own half. It is still stiflingly hot in Shanghai.
Wolves are still looking to hit City on the break when the opportunity arises. It usually comes through Traore and it did here, but the wing-back's pass to Jota did not have enough pace on it.
Wolves are dropping deeper and deeper. There is simply no let-up from City. Gundogan should probably score with a half-volley from by the penalty spot, but the German scuffs his effort.
City are bombarding the Wolves penalty area, whether that be in open play or from set pieces. A goal feels inevitable, but I suggested that in the first half as well.
Like in the first half, City go straight on the offensive, with Wolves only just surviving when a free kick was directed towards Rodri inside the area.
KICKOFF: We are back underway. City have introduced Walker, Gundogan, Bernardo and David Silva, with Stones, De Bruyne, Bernabe and Sterling making way.
Manchester City are making four changes at the break, with Wolves sticking with the XI which ended the opening 45 minutes.

The half-time whistle goes in Shanghai and we remain on level terms. City have had the better of the game, while Sterling has also missed a penalty, but Wolves deserve credit for sticking in there when they could have been two or three goals behind during the early stages.
HALF TIME: WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS 0-0 MANCHESTER CITY
Gibbs-White turns Rodri in the centre of the pitch before Jota helps the ball onto Traore. However, the wing-back keeps his head down, missing out on teeing up Dendoncker on the edge of the area.
Wolves have another appeal for a penalty as Traore beats Bravo to the ball on the right-hand side of the area. However, there doesn't look a whole lot in it.
They haven't reach half time just yet, however. There will be five minutes of added-on time...
Just the one minute to go until half time now. Wolves have done really well to reach this stage without having conceded a goal.
Again, Sane is played in behind the Wolves backline, but Boly does brilliantly to keep track of the winger, eventually winning a goal kick with a tackle on the byline.
Just like that, Wolves turn defence into attack with Gibbs-White playing Traore in behind the City backline. However, he has too much to do, leaving City to concede a corner rather than a shooting opportunity.
Nuno opted to name the same starting lineup for this game, just three days after the last match, and you have to say that some of these Wolves player look a bit leggy. It feels only a matter of time before City edge in front.
CHANCE! Another chance for City, this time for Sane. The ball was played in to Sterling, who in turn teed up his teammate. However, the German dragged his left-footed strike well wide of the far post.
Back come City who are continuing to look to get in behind Wolves down the flanks. It is forcing the likes of Traore and Jonny to remain a couple of yards deeper.
PENALTY APPEAL! Wolves apply some more pressure in the final third, and it looked like they had a shout for a penalty. Traore attempted to weave his way through the City backline, and it appeared like the winger had his shirt pulled before going to ground, although it was right on the edge of the box.
Patricio has also taken the opportunity to receive more treatment for his cheekbone. It continues to swell up, which must be a concern ahead of the club's Europa League qualifier on Thursday.
It is time for a drinks break. Wolves will be relieved! However, they have found a way to remain in the game, which is something they did impressively last season.
Finally, some possession for Wolves! A couple of moves down the right don't come to much, but Nuno's side keep hold the ball, resulting in a shot from Gibbs-White which was blocked by a defender.
Despite that minor disappointment, City are soon back in their rhythm. Wolves have not had the ball in the final third for at least the last quarter of an hour.
PENALTY! It's Sterling who steps up, and it is an absolute shocker of a penalty. The winger aims for the top left corner, but the ball goes at least a yard over the crossbar.
PENALTY! We have been back underway less than a minute, and Traore hauls down Sane to gift City a penalty. There are no complaints from the stand-in wing-back.
I'd be surprised if Patricio is allowed to carry on because he has taken a considerable whack to the face. The area under his eye and above his cheekbone is already swelling up. It looks like the Wolves medical team are prepared to allow him to continue, but the goalkeeper appears concerned that his eye may swell up.
Patricio has now picked up a knock after a collision with Sterling, who had been attempting to round the goalkeeper after being played in behind the backline. Wolves need this breather.
CHANCE! Patricio keeps Wolves on level terms with a terrific save from Rodri, who somehow failed to find the back of the net with a volley from close range.
City have reverted back top keeping hold of the ball on the halfway line in an attempt to draw Wolves out. The West Midlands outfit are having to do a lot of work off the ball.
This is so one-sided right now. De Bruyne does well on the right before delivering a wicked inswinging cross towards Sterling. The ball isn't met by the Englishman, but it still goes marginally wide of the far post.
City look extremely sharp in these early stages. Bernabe is the next to threaten after being played down the left-hand side of the penalty area, but the youngster's cross doesn't find its target.
Wolves have their first flurry forward down the left, but Jonny looks stuck for ideas when he advances into the final third.
SHOT! Already, City are looking to crowd Wolves out in the middle and it works perfectly here. Sterling is given the chance to run towards goal, before a left-footed strike is comfortably kept out by Patricio.
KICKOFF: Wolves get us underway in Shanghai!
MANCHESTER CITY XI: Bravo; Danilo Stones, Laporte, Zinchenko; Rodri, De Bruyne, Bernabe; Sane, Povedo-Ocampo, Sterling
WOLVERHAMPTON WANDERERS XI: Patricio; Bennett, Coady, Boly; Traore, Dendoncker, Neves, Moutinho, Jonny; Gibbs-White, Jota
