The summer transfer window has now begun, with rumours and speculation continuing to swirl as Manchester City eye possible reinforcements.
The 2018-19 champions did not bring in a single player during the January transfer window, despite suffering a defensive shortage for much of the 2019-20 campaign, but they have already started their business for the summer.
Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest news on possible comings and goings at the Etihad.
Thursday morning's Manchester City transfer talk news roundup:
Arsenal 'switch focus to signing Thomas Partey, Houssem Aouar'
Arsenal have reportedly turned their attention to completing deals for midfield duo Thomas Partey and Houssem Aouar after tying captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang down to a new contract.
Aubameyang finally ended speculation over his future yesterday by putting pen to paper on a three-year deal worth a reported £250,000 a week, which could rise to £350,000 a week with bonuses, add-ons and image rights.
However, The Mirror reports that the Gunners have not finished with their spending this summer and that they will now focus on bolstering their midfield ranks.
Thomas and Aouar have been tipped as Arsenal's top targets for a number of weeks now, but Mikel Arteta is likely to need to sell players before he can buy.
Atletico Madrid are demanding more than £50m for Thomas, while Lyon want at least £40m for Aouar, who has also been linked with Manchester City.
Arsenal do have a number of players they are willing to offload in order to raise those funds, though, with a £20m deal to take Emiliano Martinez to Aston Villa having already been all but confirmed by the goalkeeper.
Arteta is also open to selling Sead Kolasinac, Matteo Guendouzi and Lucas Torreira, all of whom are deemed surplus to requirements at the Emirates Stadium.
Report: Manchester City fail with £92m bid for Atletico Madrid's Jose Gimenez
Manchester City have had a huge £92m bid for defender Jose Gimenez knocked back by Atletico Madrid, according to a report.
Last season's Premier League runners-up remain on the lookout for a new centre-back, despite bringing in Nathan Ake from Bournemouth last month.
Napoli's Kalidou Koulibaly is a possible target for the Citizens, but Spanish outlet Marca claims that Gimenez is their primary target.
City are said to have tabled a mammoth offer for the Uruguay international, which would have made him comfortably their record signing.
However, it is claimed that Atletico are not prepared to let Gimenez leave unless his £110m release clause is triggered.
Gimenez has spent six seasons in Atleti's first team and has three years to run on his existing contract.
