The summer transfer window has now begun, with rumours and speculation continuing to swirl as Manchester City eye possible reinforcements.
The 2018-19 champions did not bring in a single player during the January transfer window, despite suffering a defensive shortage for much of the 2019-20 campaign, but they have already started their business for the summer.
Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest news on possible comings and goings at the Etihad.
Thursday morning's Manchester City transfer talk news roundup:
Manchester United 'preparing fresh Kalidou Koulibaly bid'
Manchester United are reportedly preparing a fresh approach for Napoli centre-back Kalidou Koulibaly.
The 29-year-old has regularly been linked with a switch to the Premier League in recent transfer windows, and Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis recently confirmed that he would be allowed to leave if a suitable offer arrives this summer.
Manchester City had been leading the race for his signature, but that deal has been held up by the strained relationship between the two clubs after their Jorginho talks broke down last summer.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, cited by The Mirror, now claims that United are looking to hijack the transfer, which is expected to set them back at least €75m (£68.1m).
United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is known to have earmarked central defence as one of his priorities for the remainder of the transfer window, alongside a new left-back and right winger.
The Red Devils have only made one signing so far this summer, bringing in Donny van de Beek from Ajax.
Barcelona 'make opening bid for Manchester City defender Eric Garcia'
Barcelona have reportedly launched an opening bid for Manchester City defender Eric Garcia.
The 19-year-old is now in the final year of his contract at the Etihad Stadium and has turned down the offer of an extension, but recently hinted that he would still like to stay at the club for another season.
However, Spanish outlet Sport claims that Barcelona have made an €8m (£7.3m) offer for Garcia, who came through the ranks at their famed La Masia academy.
Garcia left Barcelona for City's academy in 2017 and enjoyed a breakthrough season last term, making 20 appearances across all competitions.
Man City reportedly value the Spaniard at €40m (£36.3m) but recognise that they are unlikely to get anything close to that figure for a player who is out of contract next summer.
