Mario Balotelli left out of Italy squad

Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli has been dropped from the Italy squad for Wednesday's friendly against the USA.

Coach Cesare Prandelli has instead opted for Roma forward Fabio Borini for the match in Genoa.

Borini has been called up to the senior side for the first time in his career.

The 20-year-old has scored six goals in 14 Serie A games for the Giallorossi this season.

Meanwhile, Balotelli has found the net 10 times in 16 league appearances for City.
