Manchester City midfielder Gareth Barry could reportedly miss the start of the Premier League season with an abdomen injury.
The 31-year-old suffered the injury on England duty at the end of May, and he flew to Munich on Monday to meet a specialist.
Leading surgeon Dr Ulrike Muschaweck will examine Barry before deciding whether he needs an operation.
The procedure could keep the England midfielder out for a further two weeks as he continues his recovery.
Barry made 44 appearances for City last season.
