Bournemouth will attempt to end English football's worst winless run when they welcome Manchester City to the Vitality Stadium for Saturday's Premier League clash.

The Cherries will carry some momentum into the weekend after taking four points from two difficult fixtures against Arsenal and Aston Villa.

Bournemouth claimed a 2-0 victory over 10-man Arsenal, before Evanilson netted a late equaliser to rescue a point at Villa Park last weekend.

The 11th-placed side will look to make it three games without defeat when they go up against the Premier League champions on Saturday.

Bournemouth out to end wait for Man City win

After beating Arsenal in their most recent home game, Andoni Iraola's side will be targeting another big result against another Premier League title contender.

However, if Bournemouth are to clinch a surprise victory, they will have to end the worst winless run in English football history.

The Cherries have failed to win any of their 20 league meetings with Man City, which is the most matches a team has gone without beating a single opponent in English football league history.

Bournemouth will also have their work cut out to take a point from Saturday's contest, having lost each of their previous 15 competitive games against Man City.

As a result, the Cherries last managed to avoid defeat against Man City in February 1999 when the two sides played out a goalless draw in the third tier.

Arrizabalaga, Sinisterra among absentees for Man City clash

If Bournemouth are to take anything off Man City, they will have to do without the services of Kepa Arrizabalaga and Luis Sinisterra.

Speaking in Friday's pre-match press conference, Iraola said: "Kepa will not be available against City and Luis Sinisterra will not be available."

The pair have ultimately failed to recover from the issues that forced them to miss the trip to Villa Park last weekend.

Iraola also revealed that Dango Ouattara is likely to miss out, but Philip Billing should be available following illness.

"Philip Billing, yes, because it was an illness, so after two or three days of feeling poorly, he has been training normally with the team," Iraola added.

"I think it's very unlikely also to have Dango because he felt something yesterday and I don't want to say 100% but it will be very difficult that he will be involved tomorrow."

Bournemouth are also unable to call upon midfielder Alex Scott, who is expected to be out until late December after sustaining a knee injury last month.
