Wayne Bridge has revealed that he 'jumped at the chance' to join Brighton & Hove Albion from Manchester City following his loan move on Friday.
The 31-year-old will spend the upcoming season with the Seagulls as they spend their second campaign in the Championship.
"My agent called me and told me about Brighton through being friends with Gus [Poyet, manager] and when he told me about possibly going I was very interested," the former England international told the club's official website.
"It's a great chance for me to get back playing football again, so as soon as it came along I jumped at it.
"It's attractive because of the new stadium and the way Gus likes to play football. I'm pleased to come here and hopefully help the club push for promotion."
Bridge, who joined Manchester City from Chelsea in 2009, spent the second half of last season on loan at Sunderland.
