Steve Bruce bemoans wasteful Hull City

Hull City boss Steve Bruce admits that his side wasted a "wonderful opportunity" by failing to beat 10-man Manchester City in the Premier League.

Hull City boss Steve Bruce has admitted that his side wasted a "wonderful opportunity" by failing to beat 10-man Manchester City on Saturday.

Vincent Kompany was sent off with just nine minutes played at the KC Stadium before the visitors went on to claim a 2-0 victory in the Premier League encounter.

"The turning point was the [first] goal. They defended deep, we huffed and puffed and it ended up being a frustrating afternoon," Bruce told BBC Sport.

"We had a wonderful opportunity but we weren't good enough to take advantage. We struggled to create a clear opening. We didn't have that craft."

Hull return to Premier League action next Saturday when they entertain West Bromwich Albion.
