Manchester City chief Brian Marwood has confirmed that the club will be looking across the globe to find a replacement for former chief executive Garry Cook.
Cook resigned from his position earlier this month after allegations that he had emailed the mother of City defender Nedum Onuoha, mocking her battle with cancer.
"It will take as long as it needs to get the right person," Marwood said, when asked about a deputy for Cook.
"That search will be worldwide and we will have somebody that will take forward the great work that has been carried out over the last three years."
Marwood and Cook were previously colleagues at Nike before being employed by City.
