Peter Crouch is hopeful that Stoke City can put a big dent in Manchester City's title bid when the pair meet at the Britannia Stadium this evening.

The 31-year-old target man was the scourge of Blues boss Roberto Mancini in May 2010, as his late header earned Tottenham Hotspur a 1-0 win at Eastlands which denied the Citizens a place in the Champions League.

Manchester United currently lead the Premier League table by a single point and Crouch is aware that the title may no longer be in Mancini's hands if Stoke can defeat the Italian's men in the Potteries.

"City are so strong at the moment, but we could have a bearing in the title race. Certainly playing at home," said Crouch.

"The Britannia is a difficult place to come to. I don't think anyone will relish it.

"We've taken points off United, Tottenham and Chelsea this season at the Britannia, so who knows? We might have a say in it."

Man City have not won away at Stoke since 1999.
