Andy Gray calls for Joe Hart to be dropped by Manchester City

Andy Gray believes that Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini should drop goalkeeper Joe Hart for a few weeks.

Former footballer Andy Gray believes that Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini should drop goalkeeper Joe Hart for a few games.

The England international has come under fire yet again after allowing Fernando Torres to net the winner in Chelsea's 2-1 victory over City on Sunday.

"Sometimes for a goalkeeper's own benefit you have to leave them out for a couple of games, no more," Gray told talkSPORT.

"Leave them out, take them out of the spotlight, then they come back and they should be okay.

"It wouldn't surprise me if Pellegrini does that and just says to Joe, 'have a couple weeks off, if you want to go away for four of five days on you go'."

City are currently seventh in the Premier League table.
