QPR boss Mark Hughes believes Manchester City will win the Premier League title soon.

QPR boss Mark Hughes believes that Manchester City will not have to wait long before claiming their first Premier League title.

Roberto Mancini's side are currently in second place, five points adrift of Manchester United.

However, the former Manchester City boss has insisted that it is only a matter of time before the Blues do win the league, after securing the FA Cup last season.

"At some point in the near future they will win it, without a shadow of a doubt. Because they have the resources to do it. It will happen for them," said Hughes.

"They have to go through the process of earning the right to win trophies.

"They have won one - the FA Cup - and that was a big step because you have to learn how to win trophies and the first one is difficult.

"It might take some time but they will get there."

Hughes's side could help Manchester City's title challenge this season by beating Manchester United on Sunday.
