Manuel Pellegrini has praised the way that his Manchester City players remained focused throughout their 3-1 win over Liverpool at the Etihad Stadium tonight.
Two goals from Stevan Jovetic and a strike from substitute Sergio Aguero put the champions in command, before Rickie Lambert scored a consolation for the visitors late on.
Speaking after the match, Pellegrini told Sky Sports News: "We worked the whole game and played a very good team. We worked without the ball for 95 minutes and with the ball we made enough danger to score three goals.
"When you play against a strong team you have to concentrate and our concentration and intensity was good. It's so important to get six points from our first two games as it was a very difficult start for us."
Next up for City is a home encounter against Stoke City.
