Ivory Coast manager Herve Renard has declared himself "proud" of Wilfried Bony following the striker's switch to Manchester City.
The 26-year-old, who scored 36 goals in 73 appearances during his time at Swansea City, completed a much-anticipated move to the Etihad Stadium yesterday afternoon for a fee in the region of £28m.
Bony will now link up with international teammate Yaya Toure on a more regular basis in a move that excites Renard.
Speaking after the transfer had been completed, he said: "I'd like to congratulate Wilfried Bony. It's a fantastic opportunity for him to be able to play for Manchester City and to play with Yaya [Toure].
"Ivorian people must be very proud to have two players playing for one of the biggest club in the world, so I wish him good luck and we are proud to see him sign for Manchester City."
Ivory Coast kick off their Africa Cup of Nations campaign next Tuesday when they take on Guinea.
