Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert believes that his side have enough quality to cause Manchester City problems tonight.

Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert has insisted that his side are capable of beating Manchester City when the two teams meet tonight.

Villa can climb out of the Premier League relegation zone if they avoid a home defeat against the reigning English champions, but have won just once in their last four games.

When asked if Villa would prioritise upcoming games against teams in the bottom half, Lambert responded: "I don't view it that way.

"If you view it that way, there's no point in playing Man City, then? We may as well hand the points to them if we think like that.

"We are not going into it just to draw either. We want to win and the fans will drive us forward. We're playing well enough to cause City problems."

Villa have matches against relegation rivals Reading and Queens Park Rangers to look forward to in the next two weeks.
