Manchester City are beaten again in their second pre-season match in South Africa, going down 2-1 against AmaZulu.

Manchester City have lost their second consecutive game of their pre-season tour in South Africa, going down 2-1 against AmaZulu.

City were beaten 2-0 by Supersport United on Sunday, meaning that they have lost both games in the Nelson Mandela Football Invitational.

The English side lined up with a different side to Sunday's defeat, although the likes of Vincent Kompany and Samir Nasri kept their place.

They began well with Nasri and Edin Dzeko linking up well, but were behind on 20 minutes thanks to an awful defensive error.

Aleksandar Kolarov played a poor pass back towards Joe Hart, which was subsequently intercepted by Bongani Ndulula who rounded the goalkeeper and slotted the ball into the empty net.

City responded well and five minutes later they were back on level terms. Scott Sinclair's cross was headed on by Yaya Toure and James Milner was on hand at the back post to smash the ball past the goalkeeper from an acute angle.

Jack Rodwell and Dzeko both missed good chances at the beginning of the second half before a raft of Cuty changes.

One of them, Alex Nimely, played in Sinclair with 15 minutes to go, but the former Swansea City man could only drag his shot wide.

With two minutes to go, the home side won a penalty after a trip inside the box. Carlington Nyadombo blasted the spot kick down the middle to consign Manuel Pellegrini to his second defeat as City boss.
