David Silva is not in the Manchester City squad for their Premier League game away at Newcastle United on Wednesday night.

David Silva has not made the Manchester City matchday squad for their Premier League game away at Newcastle United on Wednesday night.

The 31-year-old returned for the 4-0 win over Bournemouth last time out but does not feature at St James' Park amid reports of having travelled back to Spain due to personal issues.

Pep Guardiola has made three changes from the Cherries game, with Silva, Fabian Delph and Leroy Sane replaced by Danilo, Bernardo Silva and Ilkay Gundogan.

Meanwhile, Rafael Benitez has made five changes to the Newcastle starting XI from the 3-2 win over West Ham United last Saturday.

Rolando Aarons makes his first Premier League start of the season, while Paul Dummett returns to action after an injury absence of more than four months.

Chancel Mbemba, Jacob Murphy and Jonjo Shelvey are also drafted in, with Ciaran Clark, Christian Atsu, Henri Saivet, Matt Ritchie and Dwight Gayle making way.
