AC Milan are reportedly keeping tabs on Joao Cancelo's situation at Manchester City, after the Portugal international was dropped by Pep Guardiola.

AC Milan are reportedly monitoring Joao Cancelo's situation at Manchester City very closely.

The 28-year-old has fallen out of favour with Pep Guardiola since the return from the World Cup break, with Rico Lewis and Nathan Ake preferred to the Portugal international.

The Sun reports that the Serie A giants are aware of the situation and waiting to find out whether a move for Cancelo is possible.

The full-back is under contract at the Etihad Stadium until 2027, after he signed an extension 12 months ago, so any bid would have to be substantial in order to tempt the Citizens to sell.

The player has Serie A experience after stints with Inter Milan and Juventus before his move to England, and Milan have a good relationship with his agent Jorge Mendes.

The 41-cap international has featured 26 times so far this season for City in all competitions, scoring twice and assisting five goals.
