Sergio Aguero: 'I had no choice but to join Man City'

Sergio Aguero admits that he would have joined Real Madrid instead of Manchester City, if the Spanish club would have made their interest known a year ago.

Sergio Aguero has revealed that he would have joined Real Madrid if they had made their interest known before he signed for Manchester City.

The striker moved to Eastlands from Atletico Madrid in 2011 but admitted that he favoured a transfer to Jose Mourinho's side.

Aguero told reporters: "If Madrid had wanted me, I would be playing here, I had no choice but to sign with Manchester City.

"I never said that I wouldn't play with Real Madrid because I didn't want to betray Atlético."

The Argentina international scored 23 league goals in his first season in England.
