Barcelona join race for Sergio Aguero?

Barcelona join the race to sign Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero, according to Spanish news reports.

Barcelona are considering a summer move for Manchester City forward Sergio Aguero, according to reports in Spain.

The Argentina international is thought to be seen as an ideal replacement for David Villa, should the Spanish striker leave the club.

Villa's current contract at Camp Nou expires in June 2014 and, if he does not sign a new deal, then the La Liga giants will be forced to sell and seek out a replacement.

According to Catalan daily Sport, Aguero is the main target for Tito Vilanova's side, although they will face competition from rivals Real Madrid.

Real are believed to be favourites to land Aguero should a move materialise, but Barca are ready to hijack the bid to lure him to the club in the summer.
