Barcelona have reportedly taken a step forward in finalising an offer for Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Braut Haaland, amid competition from Manchester City.
The 21-year-old is attracting interest from a whole host of top European sides, including Real Madrid and Man City, having netted 23 goals in just 20 matches this season.
Haaland's current contract at Signal Iduna Park is not set to expire until 2024, but a reported £67m release clause is expected to be activated this summer.
Spanish outlet SPORT reports that Barca are putting together an extensive package to persuade Haaland to join Xavi's side at Camp Nou, and that the Catalan giants are prepared to meet the financial demands it would take to sign the youngster.
Not only do Barca want to sign Haaland for his goal threat on the pitch, but the report suggests that the club are planning to make Haaland the focal point of their digital and marketing operations also.
Since arriving at Dortmund in 2020, Haaland has gone on to find the back of the net on 80 occasions in just 79 appearances for the club.
