Barcelona have confirmed that Manchester City youngster Joan Angel Roman has agreed a three-year deal with the club.
The 19-year-old will initially become part of the Barcelona reserve squad, while trying to prove to coach Tito Vilanova that he is worthy of a slot in the senior side.
Having left Spain three years ago to join City, Roman believes that he has benefited from his stint in England.
"Being in England for three years has helped me to mature a lot and to become physically stronger," he told the club's official website.
"I'm raring to start and start learning. When I heard Barca were interested in me, that was my priority. I can assure you that I'll work hard and give everything I can out on the pitch."
The midfielder has represented Spain at all youth levels.
