Report: Bayern Munich to approach Carlo Ancelotti if Pep Guardiola leaves club

Bayern Munich will approach Carlo Ancelotti to become the club's manager should Pep Guardiola depart the Allianz Arena for Manchester City, according to reports.

Bayern Munich have reportedly set their sights on hiring Carlo Ancelotti as club manager should Pep Guardiola depart the Allianz Arena.

The former Barcelona boss's deal expires at the end of this season and his reluctance to extend it has led to speculation that he will be on his way to Manchester City after three years with the German giants.

According to The Mirror, Bayern have now given the 44-year-old Spaniard a New Year deadline to make his mind up about remaining at the club, and will approach Ancelotti should he opt to leave.

Ancelotti has previously managed AC Milan, Chelsea and Real Madrid.
