Manchester City striker Wilfried Bony urges Yaya Toure to remain at the club

Manchester City forward Wilfried Bony urges fellow Ivorian Yaya Toure to remain at the Etihad Stadium this summer.

Manchester City striker Wilfried Bony has urged teammate Yaya Toure not to leave the club this summer.

The midfielder is expected to depart the Etihad Stadium at the end of the season, with Inter Milan and Paris Saint-Germain tipped as potential destinations.

Bony claims that it was his fellow Ivorian that convinced him to leave Swansea City for the North-West during the January transfer window, and the 26-year-old has called on the former Barcelona man to extend his stay at the Citizens.

"He told me this is a big club, how we were the champions," The Mirror quotes Bony as saying. "He told me it was a club that always fights - and I am always a fighter, so I liked that. He told me about the pressure... everything.

"All the time, we are talking. He knows what I think. He brought me here so he needs to stay.

"We hope he stays. He's a big player here and we know everything he is doing for the club. Look at everything he has done over the year, what an important player he has been."

Toure's agent Dimitry Seluk recently claimed that the midfielder is "90% certain" to find another club this summer.
