Newcastle United boss John Carver has claimed that Manchester City are interested in signing young striker Ayoze Perez.
The skillful 21-year-old Spaniard has scored five goals for the Magpies since his summer move from Tenerife.
Arsenal and Manchester United are both thought to be keen on Perez, while Carver has suggested that Premier League champions City are also monitoring his situation.
"I'm not surprised [by the interest in Perez]. He's a young lad and an exciting talent," he told the Newcastle Evening Chronicle.
"I know for a fact there is interest. You go in coaches' rooms after games and have a chat. A few people have spoken very highly of him, which is good. I had a good chat with Brian Kidd at Man City about him."
Newcastle are back in action today when they travel to Everton in the league.
