Manchester City are close to sealing a deal to sign Sevilla striker Alvaro Negredo for a fee of £20m, according to report.

Manchester City are reportedly closing in on a £20m deal to sign Sevilla striker Alvaro Negredo and could have the move wrapped up by the end of next week.

The 27-year-old has been linked with a move to the Premier League throughout the summer, but was also said to be interested in a switch to Atletico Madrid.

However, the lure of playing under Manuel Pellegrini has turned the striker's head and City are hopeful that the £20m deal will be concluded within the next seven days, reports the Daily Mail.

Negredo scored 25 goals in La Liga in 37 appearances last season.
