Manchester City are edging closer to completing the signing of attacker Omar Marmoush from Eintracht Frankfurt, according to a report.
Marmoush was left out of the Frankfurt squad that beat Borussia Dortmund 2-0 in the Bundesliga on Friday, before the Egyptian made his way onto the pitch to wave goodbye the club's supporters at Deutsche Bank Park.
Frankfurt confirmed shortly before kickoff that the 25-year-old was omitted from Dino Toppmoller's squad because they are "currently in talks with another club" regarding his transfer away from the Eagles.
It was reported a day earlier that Man City have reached a verbal agreement with Frankfurt to sign Marmoush, who is expected to put pen to paper on a five-year contract at the Etihad Stadium.
The Citizens are working hard to bolster Pep Guardiola's squad this month and are believed to be keen to reduce the age profile of a team that has become the fourth oldest in the Premier League this season.
Progress has already been made by Man City in their pursuit of two young centre-backs, with the Premier League champions having reached agreements with Lens and Palmeiras respectively to sign 20-year-old Abdukodir Khusanov and 18-year-old Vitor Reis.

Both players have already landed in the UK ahead of undergoing medical tests, and Marmoush now appears to be the next in line to fly over to Manchester.
According to Sky Deutschland reporter Florian Plettenberg, Marmoush is scheduled to undergo his medical at Man City on Monday.
Plettenberg has also stated that Frankfurt remain firm on their 'clear agreement' with Man City over a transfer fee, with the Citizens set to pay a guaranteed €75m (£63.4m) plus €5m (£4.2m) in add-ons, taking to total deal to €80m (£67.6m).
However, journalist Fabrizio Romano claims that there has been a "small change" to the transfer fee, with Man City now agreeing to pay a total package of €75m (£63.4m).
It is understood that Marmoush will earn around £275,000 per week at Man City, a significant increase from his reported £32,000 salary at Frankfurt.
Marmoush has been targeted by the Citizens having excelled as Frankfurt's star attacker this season, scoring 20 goals and registering 13 assists in 26 appearances across all competitions, including 15 strikes and nine assists in 17 Bundesliga outings.
