Fernandinho eyes long Manchester City stay

Manchester City midfielder Fernandinho claims that he could finish his career with the club.

Manchester City midfielder Fernandinho has suggested that he could finish his career with the Premier League club.

The 28-year-old Brazilian, who is under contract until 2017, joined City from Shakhtar Donetsk in the summer for £30m.

Fernandinho now admits that he is considering spending the foreseeable future at the Etihad Stadium.

"Finish my career in Manchester? Yes, anything is possible," he told La Gazzetta dello Sport. "I am fine here, I have a four-year contract and I have no reason to think about anything else.

"I believe in this project and I believe that we will win important trophies."

Fernandinho won his first piece of silverware with City on Sunday when they beat Sunderland to lift the League Cup.
