Hearts have reportedly identified Manchester City striker Ryotaro Meshino as a potential signing ahead of the closure of the summer transfer window.
Despite bringing in a number of forwards ahead of the new campaign, manager Craig Levein is seemingly keen to add another attacker to his first-team squad.
According to Sky Sports News, there is an interest in Meshino, who only signed a deal with the Premier League champions earlier this month.
City are said to be happy to allow the 21-year-old to move north of the border, providing that he qualifies for a work permit.
The report adds that City will look to move Gamba Osaka man to a club outside of the United Kingdom if they failed to gain permission from the authorities to use him on these shores.
