Wolfsburg head coach Dieter Hecking has offered the clearest indication yet that Kevin de Bruyne could leave the club before the end of the transfer window.
Manchester City are reported to be considering tabling a bid close to £45m for the Belgian playmaker, and Wolfsburg's sporting director Klaus Allofs admitted at the weekend that they were expecting an offer soon.
Despite previously insisting that Wolfsburg had no intention of selling their star man this summer, Hecking believes that his potential departure could soon become a reality.
"These are going to be difficult days for all involved and even if our days together should not continue, I would already now like to wish him all the best," Hecking is reported as saying by sport1.de.
De Bruyne started Wolfsburg's 2-1 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt on Sunday.
