Independiente are reportedly considering a move for Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero.
The Argentina international began his career with Independiente, registering 23 goals in 56 games before departing for Atletico Madrid.
Furthermore, City's two-year ban from European football has led to speculation regarding the futures of several key players at the Etihad, and Aguero's boyhood club are reportedly looking to bring him and Lucas Biglia back to Argentina.
In quotes attributed to The Mirror, Independiente head coach Lucas Pusineri said: "I have a nice relationship with Biglia and Kun Aguero.
"We were teammates – and I have a lot of respect for their careers in Argentina and Europe. It would be nice to have them tomorrow. In the future, I am hopeful that I will be able to count on them."
Aguero has registered 254 goals in 368 games for the Citizens since his arrival, and his current deal with Pep Guardiola's side is set to expire next summer.
