Manchester City's hopes of convincing Erling Haaland to sign a new contract at the club have allegedly been boosted by Kylian Mbappe's decision to leave Paris Saint-Germain.
Haaland's future has recently been the subject of speculation, with Real Madrid believed to be keeping a close eye on his situation in Manchester.
The Norway international has again been in impressive form for the Citizens this season, scoring 21 goals and registering six assists in 27 appearances in all competitions.
Meanwhile, he has more than three years left to run on his current deal with Pep Guardiola's side.
However, there have recently been suggestions that the 23-year-old is unsettled in Manchester and would be willing to discuss a move to Real Madrid during this summer's transfer window.

Los Blancos are currently focusing on a deal for Mbappe, though, with the forward telling PSG that he will be leaving the club on a free transfer at the end of June.
According to The Mirror, Man City's plans to sign Haaland to a new deal have been boosted by Real Madrid's focus on securing the signature of Mbappe.
The report claims that the Premier League champions want to extend the Norwegian's terms until June 2029 and also renegotiate a release clause of £171m, which will become active this summer.
Haaland's buy-out fee will then reportedly drop to £150m for foreign clubs next year, and it has been claimed that Real Madrid will attempt to sign the forward then, as a deal for him in the same summer as Mbappe is unrealistic.

The striker is not believed to be in any rush to leave Guardiola's side and could potentially assess his options next summer, but it remains to be seen whether Man City are able to renegotiate the buy-out fee.
Haaland has managed 16 goals and five assists in 19 Premier League appearances this season, with Man City chasing the title, while he has managed five goals and one assist in six Champions League appearances in 2023-24.
Since arriving from Borussia Dortmund in July 2022, the forward has managed 73 goals and 15 assists in 80 appearances for Man City, and he played a key role in their treble success last season.
Haaland is believed to dream of representing Real Madrid before the end of his career, but a move to Bernabeu this summer is now seen as almost impossible in light of the Mbappe news.
