Manchester City are reportedly at an "advanced" stage with talks to sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Borussia Dortmund.
The prolific striker, 27, has been courted by major clubs across Europe following his stellar form in the Bundesliga last season, which saw him score 39 goals in 45 games in all competitions.
According to the Sunday Express, City are prepared to set a new club-record transfer figure in order to secure their man and will meet Dortmund's £58m asking fee.
Pep Guardiola's side are thought to face competition for Aubameyang from La Liga giants Atletico Madrid, who have already had one offer rejected but are expected to return with improved terms.
Aubameyang joined Dortmund in 2013 after stints in France with Saint-Etienne, Monaco and Lille.
