Manchester City are reportedly ready to make a late deadline-day swoop for DC United forward Luciano Acosta.
Acosta has been linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain before today's transfer deadline, having scored 11 goals and created 15 more in 36 MLS appearances last season.
The Washington Post reports that the Ligue 1 champions have made a $10m (£7.6m) bid for the 24-year-old as they search for cover for the injured Neymar.
However, the same report claims that Man City and another unnamed club are considering a late attempt to hijack the bid before tonight's 11pm deadline.
Acosta is understood to have travelled to Europe yesterday in order to finalise a move, although no deal has yet been agreed.
City boss Pep Guardiola has repeatedly insisted that Man City will not make any signings during the current window, though, despite sitting five points behind Liverpool in the Premier League table.
