Bayern Munich reportedly offered Manchester City the chance to sign David Alaba as part of a swap deal for Leroy Sane in this summer's transfer window.
The German champions are widely expected to sign at least one new winger ahead of the 2019-20 campaign, having seen both Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben leave the club in quick succession.
Sane has been strongly linked with a move to the Allianz Arena, with the Germany international struggling for starts in the latter stages of last season.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Bayern hoped to tempt City into a sale by offering the Premier League champions the chance to sign Austrian defender Alaba as part of a swap.
However, the report claims that Pep Guardiola's side turned down the opportunity as they have no intention of allowing Sane to leave in this summer's transfer window.
Barcelona have also been linked with a move for Alaba as the Spanish champions seemingly seek competition for first-choice left-back Jordi Alba.
