Manchester City are reportedly monitoring the development of FC Midtjylland defender Ousmane Diomande.
City are not short of options for the middle of their backline with five world-class players at Pep Guardiola's disposal.
The Spaniard is currently able to choose between Ruben Dias, John Stones, Nathan Ake, Aymeric Laporte and Manuel Akanji.
However, the Premier League giants have never been shy in investing in the future, as shown by their recent acquisition of Velez Sarsfield youngster Maximo Perrone.

A wide array of their prospects are spending 2022-23 out on loan with the hope of eventually challenging for a first-team role at the Etihad Stadium.
According to the Daily Mail, City are looking to further enhance their crop of young talent with the addition of Diomande.
The report claims that contact has been made with Midtjylland regarding a potential deal for the 19-year-old central defender.
Diomande is currently not playing top-flight football, instead plying his trade for Mafra in the second tier of Portuguese football.

As many as 12 league outings have been made for a team who currently find themselves down in 12th position in that division, conceding 28 goals in 17 games.
Nevertheless, it appears that City's recruitment team have been left impressed by the qualities of Diomande and they have placed the player on their shortlist.
Diomande is yet to represent Midtjylland's senior side, but 17 outings have been made with their Under-19s, two of those appearances coming in the UEFA Youth League last year.
There are still three years remaining on his contract with the Danish outfit, leaving them in a strong position with regards to his future.
